We've developed a unique game platform that allows us to easily deliver social games within our social networking framework. Andy Mayer, Yoomee CEO

We built a special social network for Aimhigher to help their students find out more about each other and the activities on offer. But how do you make sure students check the site regularly, interact with each other and engage with the programme? Our solution was an integrated social game called 'Rockhigher'.

If Aimhigher students happen to use Facebook (and that's pretty much a given for these 'digital natives'), then they might just know Farmville - well Rockhigher's a bit like that, but of course we'd like to think it's better!

The aim of the game, as they say, is to answer the multiple choice questions correctly. The more goes it takes, the less points earned. So, students need to sure they do their research on the site first. The answers to lots of the questions are dotted around the site. Each day students get a new question, and a new chance to earn some points. They can either save these up, or spend, spend, spend on characters and equipment for their very own band.

Everybody gets their own band page too where they can check up on their score, and let their creative juices run coming up with a cool name and description for it. Students can also make and upload your their album cover (remembering their artwork needs to be original and not break any rules) and generally funking things up. The more band characters students manage to buy, the higher up the chart they move. So, who's going to top the charts this week, eh? Ultimately, it's a race to move up through the levels and become a living legend in your time!
